Education

Mr. Floyd attended The University of North Texas, where he majored in Criminal Justice. That degree paved the way for his future career in the law. Following his undergraduate degree, Mr. Floyd attended Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall College of Law.

At Thurgood Marshall College of Law, Mr. Floyd discovered a love for Criminal Law, where he represented his school in national mock trial competitions, where he was the top advocate of his class. In his third and final year of law school, he was the only student chosen to teach the Trial Advocacy class.

He was also part of a select group of students allowed entry to the Criminal Law Clinic, where he holds the record for “Most Cases Dismissed” and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors.

Representative Work

  • Floyd won primary custody for a father in Odessa whose ex-wife had absconded to Colorado with their children, alienating them from their father for two Christmases before a well-fought jury decision overturned the custody arrangement in our favor.
  • In a landmark resolution to the divorce case involving an elderly couple with substantial assets, Mr. Floyd’s client emerged victorious in securing her financial stability post-divorce, despite the challenges and emotional turmoil of the proceedings.
  • In a contentious divorce case involving children, significant financial assets, and complex legal maneuvering, Mr. Floyd and his client emerged triumphant in securing her fair share of the marital estate and ensuring the safety of her children. The husband, who owned a highly successful business, had been clandestinely diverting marital assets into the business while the wife, a devoted stay-at-home mother, remained unaware of his actions. The resolution not only provided the wife with the financial resources she deserved but also established safeguards to protect the children from the adverse effects of their parents’ tumultuous divorce and the husband’s personal struggles.
